Hello, and thank you so much for your interest in submitting to our second Issue: Fall 23! The submission deadline will be November 27th, 2023.
This issue about breaking norms.
Anything from breaking stereotypes about gender bias, from identity, from yourself. What is surprising to you? What intrigues you? And most importantly, what POPS out to you?
Please ensure that your submission adheres to the submission guidelines listed further down on this page, and below, you can also see our categories, and topic list.

Categories:
Poetry: 1-4 poems, 2000 word maximum, all types allowed (free verse, prose poetry, etc).
Prose/Fiction: 1-4 pieces, 2000 word maximum. Creative fiction, nonfiction, personal narrative, flash fiction, and science fiction aligned with the issue's prompt.
Culture / Analytical Writing: 1-2 pieces, 2000 word maximum. Delves or reviews an issue or topic that pertains to women today analytically, utilizing research, sources, etc. Follows GTGS formatting guidelines. (Ex: "The History of the Suffragist Movement", "Domestic Violence Policies Worldwide".
Review / OP/ED: 1-2 pieces, 2000 word maximum. Delves into a personal opinion on a topic that pertains to women today, utilizing research, sources, etc to back up this argument. Follows GTGS formatting guidelines. (Ex: "Digital Rights are Women's Rights", "Female Athletes deserve more appreciation", "Olivia Rodrigo's music is unconventionally 'teenage girl'".)
Art/Photography: 3-4 pieces, clear pixel image, uploaded as a viewable drive photo or PNG.
We truly encourage individuals to submit analytical pieces, reviews, artwork, and photography alongside fiction / poetry!
Submission
Guidelines

All submissions are free, meaning that no submission fee will be required, and should be submitted via the linked Google Form. If there are any complications, please email the GTGS email to resolve any issues.

All submissions should include an english translation, or be in english.

Any work with explicit wording / imagery or clear discriminatory intent (racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc) will not be edited nor accepted.

Plagarized work or work created by AI/ChatGPT will not be accepted. If referring to a source, please adhere to our formatting requirements.

Before submitting, please be your own grammar editor. Our editors we focus on giving back content editing, and focusing on grammatical errors will not allow us to be as productive.

Include a short, third person biography about yourself describing where you're from, previous publications and aspirations, and other details.

If accepted for publication, you will receive an email saying so, most likely with necessary edits. The document attached with the edits must be resolved or fixed by the due date described by the author itself, or GTGS will publish the revised version.

Girl to Girls Stories will hold first North American serial and electronic rights, if work submitted was not previously published, for any accepted works. The rights will return to the author after publication.
