Ahh, the leaves are turning orange and yellow, pumpkin spice everything is out and about, and fall is alive this month. After my absolutely favorite TV show (and your resident Jess girly), here are a few things I’ll definitely be doing to make the most out of my senior fall and live it like a Gilmore.
Visit my local bookstore.
I’m a firm believer in romance, in cute, fun books and a calm evening in a park. Rory Gilmore, a soul a thousand times smarter than me, read almost a hundred classics and consumed a library of dusty old books (dusty old books that I personally love as well!). Visiting your local bookstore and exploring your options is an option that I’m personally excited to explore this fall. Who knows what you will find - and careful, shopping local may even be cheaper than Barnes and Nobles!
Visit my book list for this fall as well, on my other post “Books Recommendations for your Gilmore Girls Fall”!
Thrift, thrift, thrift!
Sure, a dusty thrift store may not be your ideal place to spend your October Fridays, but the chance to curate your own closet, find unique and odd pieces, and even (maybe) score your perfect fall sweater will make it all worth it. I mean, it’s truly difficult to find an affordable pair of spurs in this age of capitalism.
Throw a Friendsgiving party.
Put together a list of all your friends and put together a Friendsgiving potluck! Make a variety of comfort food, pumpkin pies, apple ciders, mince meat pies, casserole, and sweet potato whip. Decorate your home, and have a night of laughter!
Host a Gilmore Girls/Fall movie marathon.
Put together a night of your favorite episodes from Gilmore Girls, or a film festival of Charlie Brown and nostalgic films. Bake cookies, pop popcorn, and drink gallons of pumpkin spice to go along with your night.
Go on a fall hike!
Fall is a short season, and there’s nothing better than actually enjoying the great outdoors during this time. Go on a walk, or take advantage of the cool weather and take a hike.
Study at/Visit your local or university library.
This one isn’t as fun as the others, but it can make something as mundane as studying more fun. Visit your local library and grab a study room, or better yet, your local university’s library, that may help you romanticize multi variable equations and physics just a little bit more.
